Casumo sportsbook is a relatively young and new introduction on the UK sports betting scene. From an operator that has its attention primarily focused on the casino side of the business – they have successfully and skilfully swallowed up large portions of the fragmented social betting market.

Time and again, we've seen successful online casinos add a sportsbook to their website. Casumo are the latest exciting example. After a couple of years of speculation, they finally, officially launched their long-awaited sports betting section at the beginning of 2020.

The appeal of situations like this is obvious. Theoretically, the brand will bring their wealth of online gambling experience to bear on their new product too – in this case, the sportsbook – which will lead to a smooth, user-friendly experience.

Has that proven to be the case in this instance? Well, that's exactly what we're going to find out, in our comprehensive Casumo review. Read on to learn about Casumo's promotions, features, customer support… and just about every other important factor you need to know about too!

18+. New UK customers only. Min bet £10 to receive £10 Free Bet (placed and settled 35 days from registration). Min odds of 3/5. Free Bet credited at qualifying bet settlement and placed within 35 days. T&C's apply.

Notable customer service

Casumo Sign Up Offer

Even when you've already had years of success in the online gambling industry, like Casumo, you still can't rely on brand awareness alone to drive new sign ups. Instead, you must offer newcomers value, and the best way to do this is to have a tasty welcome offer in place.

We're pleased to say that the Casumo new customer offer is highly competitive. It's extremely straightforward, with its name – ‘Bet £10, Get £10 Free Bet' – basically telling you everything you need to know! You essentially just sign up, make your deposit, stick a £10 wager down, and are rewarded with a £10 Casumo free bet.

As ever, a few terms and conditions do come attached to this offer. These are the most important:

  • Qualifying bet must be £10 or more, on any pre-match or in-play sports market
  • Minimum odds of 3/5 (1.60)
  • Qualifying bet must be placed and settled within 35 days of registration
  • £10 free bet will be awarded immediately after qualifying bet is settled
  • Free bet must be placed (but not necessarily settled) within 35 days of registration
  • Free bet stake not included with winnings

The opening Casumo offer might not satisfy the big hitters, but – for everyone else – we'd say this is an excellent deal. It certainly delivers value, immediately doubling your spending power if you stick down the minimum £10 qualifying wager. Even better, none of the T's & C's ruin its appeal, with the minimum odds of 3/5 – and complete lack of restrictions on betting markets – being extremely favourable. Honestly, this welcome offer alone is good enough to merit signing up to Casumo and giving them a shot!

Casumo Ongoing Promotions (Updated On: February 2021)

Based on the impressive nature of the welcome offer, our hopes were pretty high when it came time to evaluate the ongoing Casumo promotions. Imagine our disappointment, therefore… when we found out there weren't really any to speak of!

Technically, at the time of writing, Casumo were running one competition. This was simply a giveaway, though, with a lucky user receiving two tickets to a Reading FC game. While this shows that Casumo do care about providing rewards for loyal bettors… it still doesn't count as an ongoing promotion.

On the one hand, this is an incredibly new sportsbook, so it's somewhat excusable that not every part of the platform is up and running yet. On the other, ongoing promotions are a pretty fundamental building block for every successful bookie. So… shouldn't Casumo really have ensured they were in place before they launched?

Overall, we found Casumo's lack of ongoing promotions to be both surprising and disappointing. We'd certainly hope, and expect, this mistake to be rectified sooner rather than later.

Casumo Football Features

In one respect, at least, it doesn't matter whether you have all the experience in the world of running a multifaceted online casino; when it comes to sportsbooks, one market dominates all others, and that's football. Fortunately, it doesn't take long to see that Casumo have given the beautiful game plenty of attention.

Casumo markets itself as offering ‘sports betting made simple', and – from the very beginning – you can see signs of how they've made football betting more user-friendly than usual.

Casumo sports betting

For starters, the interface is highly, and unusually, customisable. When you sign up, you'll be asked to choose your favourite sports. Pick football, and you'll subsequently be asked to select which countries or competitions you're most interested in. The ones you choose now will always be displayed most prominently within the football section – whether for live, upcoming or outright bets – allowing you to locate the markets you actually want to bet on in record time. Adding and removing markets afterwards is an absolute cinch.

Even aside from that excellent feature, this interface is a joy to navigate. Looking at a list of upcoming games, for example, you're shown odds for both Match Result and Over/Under Goals by default. Rather than looking crowded, as is often the case, all these odds are presented in an extremely straightforward manner. This layout is also customisable, though, with the ability to change all those displayed markets to the likes of Draw No Bet, Double Chance, and so on.

While live streaming hasn't yet been included, there's no shortage of other football features on Casumo. In-play betting works very well, for all levels of competition, with a visualisation tool, live stats (including each team's number of ‘dangerous attacks'), and a list of major events (goals, substitutions, etc.) all helping you keep up with the action. A Cashumo cash out tool is also present, and there's a solid Bet Builder to help you put multiples together.

Other Betting Markets

Football might be the priority on Casumo, as with most sportsbooks, but you'll find a sizable range of other betting markets on offer too. Whether you like to wager on boxing, cricket, tennis rugby, golf or American leagues like the NBA and NFL, you're nicely catered for here. It's not a perfect selection yet, with horse racing the most notable absence, but this may well be added in time.

Importantly, remember that you can use the aforementioned customisation tools to tailor the interface to your liking. If you're not interested in football at all, for example, but love cricket and rugby, then you can easily make these the only sports markets that you see.

Mobile Betting Options & App

Mobile features are notoriously one of the trickiest things for a new sportsbook to get right. In the case of Casumo, therefore, it's refreshing to see their confidence in this area. Just go to the home page of their sports section (when you're not logged in), and you'll see the mobile versions of their sportsbook are much more heavily promoted than the traditional desktop site.

We're pleased to say that, despite launching so recently, there is already a Casumo Android app and an iOS version in place. Technically the sports betting features have been added in to the existing casino app, but that's just fine by us, as both versions already enjoy outstanding user reviews – approximately 3.9/5 on Google Play and the App Store, across hundreds of ratings.

It didn't take us long to see what all the fuss was about. Switching between the casino and sports sections can be done with the simple press of a button. If you've already signed up on desktop, you'll find that all your layout configurations – for preferred sports and competitions – are already in place on the Casumo app too. The rest of the major functionality is also carried over, including the Bet Builder and live betting features, making this an effective on-the-go replacement for the desktop site.

In terms of the user experience, we have no complaints to speak of. It's not the fastest betting app we've used in terms of loading speeds, but it's not ‘slow' by any means, and the odds and scores for live games are updated constantly. Navigation is also nice and straightforward too, using either the customisable main interface, or a search function at the top.

In addition to all that, there's also a fully functional Casumo mobile website in place. Again, the loading times here aren't the best (they were slower than the app's during our testing), but the layout is identical, everything is scaled perfectly, and all the major features are present and correct.

Security

If you weren't previously familiar with their casino operation, then you have every right to ask ‘Is Casumo legit?' Well, the short answer is… ‘Yes!'

For starters, Casumo hold full licenses with both the prestigious UK Gambling Commission and the Malta Gaming Authority. These ensure that it is held to the highest standards when it comes to user security and general fairness.

Casumo don't offer a huge amount of detail about their specific security measures, aside from all information being encrypted using SSL, and payment methods being PCI-compliant. Again, though, their excellent licenses should give you all the peace of mind you need.

Opening an Account

This is easily one of the areas in which bookies have made the biggest improvements in recent years. In fact, they seem to be competing to create the most streamlined sign up process possible, and Casumo are no different.

You can sign up here in three easy stages. The first step is… simply to enter your email address! The second isn't much harder, simply requiring you to set a password and username, and provide some basic personal information – name, address, phone number, and so on. Finally, you simply accept the general terms and conditions, opt in to the sports welcome offer rather than the casino one, and you're done!

Banking Options

There are payment methods on Casumo: credit/debit card, Skrill, Neteller, Paysafe, MuchBetter, and Pay By Mobile. Bank transfer and PayPal are the most obvious omissions, but this selection should still be enough for most users. The minimum deposit amount is £10, all payments are processed instantly, and there are no transaction fees.

There is a closed loop system in place when making a Casumo withdrawal, meaning you must use the same method as for your deposit. Most methods are processed instantly (credit/debit cards take 1-5 days), and while the minimum withdrawal amount is technically £4, those under £10 will be charged a £3 fee.

Customer Support

This can often prove to be a weak spot for newly-opened sportsbooks, but we were pleased to discover that the Casumo customer service offering is extremely solid. While an email address can be found on the website, you are heavily encouraged to use the live chat instead. That's just fine by us, given that it's extremely easy to access (you just click a small button in the bottom-right of your screen to start chatting), and – impressively – is available 24/7.

If your enquiry doesn't require any direct Casumo contact, you can simply turn to the excellent FAQ section. This is absolutely enormous, and – while there's no search feature – it's very easy to find what you're looking for thanks to the intuitive division of the different sections. The articles are well-written too, being nice and concise while still delivering all the information you need.

Casumo Company Details

Casumo was first launched in 2012, originally starting out purely as an online casino. Over the years since then they have developed an outstanding reputation, and won a number of prestigious EGR Awards. In March 2018 they began moving towards opening a sportsbook when they commissioned industry veterans Kambi to build a platform. The first few customers were admitted in late 2019, and – at the dawn of 2021 – the sportsbook section was officially opened.

Though it was founded by Swedes, Casumo has long been based in Malta. They also now have an office in Barcelona, and – in total – have over 250 employees on their books.

Casumo Bottom Line

In general, it's a good idea to be cautious when considering signing up with a brand new bookie. The more pragmatic course is to wait a while, and be sure that the platform is user-friendly and reliable, before committing.

In this Casumo review, we've found a bookie that flies in the face of this logic. We know the company were already experienced in casino operations, but the level of polish and functionality on display here is still seriously impressive. In both of those areas, it trumps what you'll find from most sportsbooks who have been around for years.

The welcome offer makes a great first impression, and, while the lack of ongoing promotions is disappointing, that's just about the only issue we found here. Everything else – from the mobile features, to the customer service, to the intuitive and inventive interface – is already top-notch.

We wouldn't normally give a ringing endorsement to a new bookie… but in the case of Casumo, we simply can't help ourselves. This is already an extremely well-rounded sportsbook, which – in many respects – stands toe-to-toe with some of the biggest names in the industry. Sign up today, take advantage of their ‘Bet £10, Get £10 Free Bet' welcome offer, and we sincerely doubt you'll be disappointed.

Kicking off 2020 to a positive start, Malta-based operator Casumo has launched its first online sportsbook in the UK. In contrast to other European operators, which have backed out of the UK in recent years, Casumo is seeking to expand its hold on the British sports betting market.

A New Sportsbook For the UK

Casumo's new sportsbook has been accepting new customers since December 20th, 2019, although Casumo officially announced the launch this year on January 6th. The move is a bold one, and will be gladly received by UK betting fans. 2019 saw a number of large gambling and betting operators withdraw their services from the UK market. This was due to a variety of reasons, such as concerns over Brexit and tighter gambling regulations. Casumo's new sports betting venture will be viewed as a positive step for the future of Britain's gambling industry.

Casumo is an online casino operator based in Malta. The gambling company was first launched in 2012, and has since grown to become one of Europe's most popular web-based betting and casino operators. The company was awarded its UK gambling license in 2015. Since then, it has accumulated a loyal fan base due to its wide range of online casino products. The brand's latest foray into sports betting will further establish it as a UK favorite.

Casumo is offering new customers an enticing welcome package, to draw the public to its new site. Any new customer who bets a minimum of £10 on a pre-match or in-play sports market will be offered an additional free bet worth £10. Casumo's UK Manager, Greg Tatton-Brown, explains this welcome gift is so great for customers. 'It's a clear and straightforward offer, which is aligned with the experience that the product has been developed to provide – sports betting made simple.'

Casumo's new UK sportsbook can be accessed via the web or through a mobile app. The app is well thought out with a sleek design and clear layout. It can easily be tailored to suit individual betting needs. Customers can pick out their favorite sports or leagues and drop those that they aren't interested in. ‘Live Mode' allows customers to keep up with matches and events that are already in play. Accumulator bets can be made quickly and simply, using the specially designed tools on offer. This is ideal for bettors who are excited for a big match or are following a football season.

'I am excited to be able to bring Casumo's approach to UK sports fans. We have put the player front and center in the development of a sportsbook product that is approachable and user-friendly.'Greg Tatton-Brown, UK Country Manager, Casumo

As well as being easy to use and navigate, Casumo's new UK sportsbook is trustworthy. Fully licensed by the UKGC, it is regulated and adheres to British gambling laws. Payments made through the app and the website are 100% secure, providing customers with valuable peace of mind. Payments and withdrawals are rapid, and Casumo does not require any deposit fees. Support is only a few clicks away and is available 24/7.

Casumo's sportsbook utilizes technology from Kambi, a b2b sports betting service provider. It creates intelligent software tailored to the specific needs of individual betting sites. Casumo first signed a deal with Kambi to produce a sports betting product in early 2018. Speaking at the time, Kambi's Chief Executive, Kristian Nylen, was proud to be part of the partnership.

'This deal illustrates the flexibility of the Kambi technology, with Casumo widening the spectrum of operators currently adapting our technology to meet their own specific product and marketing requirements.'

Casumo Sponsors Reading FC

The betting brand's new sportsbook is its latest attempt to position itself in the UK's sports betting market. Last year, on June 28th, 2019, Casumo signed a two-year sponsorship deal with Reading F.C. The partnership underlines Casumo's position as part of the UK's sports scene, showcasing the brand to a new audience of fans.

The company has already taken an active role in its sponsorship of the Reading football team, by participating in a number of initiatives. On Boxing Day, it provided Reading fans with a matchday bus, taking them to and from the sporting venue. Casumo has also taken part in the Rainbow Laces LGBT inclusivity campaign and shown its support for Armistice Day. During the match season, Casumo devoted half of its stadium advertising to promoting responsible gambling.

'With Reading FC, we wanted to use the sponsorship platform as a way of bringing our brand values to life, in support of a team and community that we care about.'

Improving Responsible Gambling

Casumo has not always had such a responsible image. In 2019, it hit the headlines for all the wrong reasons when one of its online ads was banned. The Advertising Standards Authority ruled that the ad was irresponsible, after it was revealed that it targeted customers searching ‘how to unsubscribe from all gambling'. The paid ad, which was first spotted in May, 2019, offered a 'Welcome Bonus to New Players Casumo 100% and 20 Free Spins'.

Casumo defended its ad, explaining that the word ‘unsubscribe' did not need to be included in its list of excluded terms. However, the ASA did not see it this way and sided with the complainant. 'We considered that by searching for 'how to unsubscribe from all gambling' a consumer was likely to be seeking further information about the tools needed to opt-out from receiving gambling ads'.

In 2018, Casumo also fell foul of UKGC regulations, resulting in a penalty package of £5.85 million. The UK Gambling Commission ruled that Casumo's safeguards against money laundering and protections for problem gamblers were inadequate. Since then Casumo has had to improve its attitude towards responsible gambling.

Casumo Sports Betting Sites

Casumo Cares provides information and resources for customers who think that they or someone they know might have a gambling problem. ‘Play Okay' encourages self-control by allowing customers to set limits on how much they gamble. Customers can also choose to self-exclude through the GamStop scheme. 24/7 support is also available from specially trained staff via email and onsite chat.

Sports Betting Stocks

Over the years, Casumo has been the proud recipient of a range of prestigious industry awards. Shortly after the company launched, it was recognized as a ‘Rising Star' in the 2013 EGR Awards. In the intervening years it has won two ‘Innovation in Casino' EGR Awards and two ‘Mobile Operator' EGR Nordic Awards. In 2019, Casumo also won the ‘Online Casino Operator' category at the IGA Awards.

Casumo has been shortlisted in four categories for the EGR Nordics Awards 2020. It is being considered for the following awards; ‘Affiliate Programme', ‘Marketing Campaign', ‘Operator of the Year' and ‘Socially Responsible Operator'. The winners will be announced later this month.
